Rahab's Rope
Cattle for Christ has played an integral part in allowing Brooke Lombardi from Go InterNational, to travel to Bangalore, India and work with the women at Rahab's Rope. Rahab's Rope is a non-profit organization which helps women escape from the commercial sex trade, also known as human trafficking, within India.
Brooke went to minister with these women at Rahab's Rope in March 2009 and January 2010. This latest trip in January brought Brooke's first trip in March to fruition. In March 2009, Brooke came to see that there was a significant need for teams to come and minister with the women at Rahab's Rope, as it was very rare for volunteers to come from the west. With the help of CCI, Brooke was able to take a team of four women back to India to spend two weeks with the Rahab women. This team spent their time building friendships, fascilitating life skills sessions, and mostly just living life together. This incredible trip changed the lives of everyone involved.
In coming months, Cattle for Christ International, Inc. is partnering with Brooke in her long term ministry endeavor to work with women involved in human trafficking & sex trade in and around Cambodia.
Walking in the slums of Comas, a suburb of Lima, Peru we met a little girl named Claudia, an independent and smart 8 year old who cared for her three younger siblings while her mom worked. Claudia is unable to attend school since she plays the role of a mother all day while her mom works as a prostitute (one of the few "opportunities" girls with no education have to support themselves).
There are millions of children who are in similar situations as Claudia who live in extreme poverty, with no parental supervision, no opportunity for an education, and with very limited opportunities. Childhood is supposed to be a time where children grow in love and are nurtured and encouraged to become the people God wants them to be. Children represent a third of the world's population and the majority of them are targets of abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Poverty destroys their hope, self-worth, and opportunity for a better life.
Cattle for Christ is reaching children in crisis by empowering indigenous ministries through training leaders and by providing resources. Cattle for Christ is committed to develop holistic ministries to care for the needs of children by empowering the local church to learn how to more effectively communicate God's word to them. It is God's desire that all children know and experience His unconditional love for them. Children in crisis must be rescued from the bondage and destruction of hopelessness - you can help!
You can be an agent of hope, who offers these children a better quality of life where they can know God and welcome Him as their Savior and Lord. Cattle for Christ invites you to join us as we witness lives being changed and futures being made brighter as children come to know Christ and grow in their love for Him.

El Loco from Peru
They called him "El Loco"- the crazy one!
I was with our team in Colquepata, Peru this month when I came face to face with El Loco. Separated from society because of behavioral and emotional problems, El Loco had few friends. He came to our medical staff for treatment as did hundreds of others the two days we remained in Colquepata.
On a Sunday morning service, El Loco (Gregoria) came forward in our meetings and bowed on his knees to pray with church friends. Life was beginning anew and we rejoiced together for his new life with Christ in his heart.
For four days, our GO team, with the aid and support of Cattle for Christ International, Inc., met literally hundreds of people for medical/dental needs, as well as those who needed eye glasses. All received salvation tracts and many were prayed for as well. I remembered in the Bible how Jesus saw hungry multitudes as "sheep without a shepherd". While our ministry team also gave Bibles to Quechua Pastors, we had our eyes opened to the tremendous hunger among these people.
Along with meeting the many physical ailments, we had the joy of sharing our testimonies and the Jesus film with many people in the communities we served.
Thanks so much for your prayers & support this past month. I left for Colombia January 6 and served with other leaders in a pastor/wives conference that included 132 participants. It was a great time of learning together.
I then flew to Lima and then to Ayacucho, followed by a seven hour taxi ride to Pichari, Peru, one of the leading coca growing regions. We met with pastors and prayed over ways we could bless the leadership and churches living under the pressure of drug trafficking and persecution. I came back burdened for the many diverse needs of the people living in this region.
Lastly, I flew to Arequipa, Peru to meet with pastors to map out a strategy to reach people in this region. I am glad to report that we sent one hundred Bibles and discipleship materials both to Arequipa and Pichari before leaving January 24.
I covet your prayers for my upcoming missions trip to Honduras on February 16-25.

Invasion of Grace
Cattle for Christ is helping launch an Invasion of Grace in the region of Pichari, Peru where coca and terrorism go hand in hand.
For eighty thousand people living in the "red zone" of Peru, it demands resilience amid the constant threat of narco traffickers and government intervention. In their midst live courageous pastors and Christian leaders bringing the Gospel to rural farmers and their families.
Cattle for Christ recently sponsored a pastors' gathering in Pichari to strategize with local leaders about how to meet the spiritual needs of people living in this area of Peru. An immediate need of Bibles and discipleship materials were sent on January 24 to supplement the meager supplies of pastors who often have no resources at all.
From the meeting came the theme of an "Invasion of Grace". This coming August, Cattle for Christ will sponsor a Peruvian medical team to come to Pichari and offer medical assistance to needy people living in the Amazon. A call to come for help will echo through the mountains and valleys, and we pray many needs will be met.
In addition to medical help, a children's and youth conference will be held in Pichari to ignite a new generation of youth leaders in the region. Pastors will be invited for a two day session and teaching on dicipleship for people living there.
CCI will provide additional Bibles and materials for this conference.
Thank you for praying and supporting CCI in this special season of Grace that God is extending to these needy people.
"We are the forgotten people of Peru" lamented one pastor. CCI is committed to not letting that happen and by the Grace of God and the help of our friends, we want to give help to our distant brothers and sisters in the Gospel.
Tooth decay removed.....relief!
Eyes to see with new glasses........excitement!
Medical attention treating fungus and parasites......joy of a new beginning!
Hundreds of folks attended the five city tour of medical, dental and eye glasses clinics in Peru January 21- February 21. What a joy to know that Cattle for Christ provided the funding for these very needy people. On occasions people prayed for a new relationship with Christ, and all prayed for healing.
Two new church plants were celebrated in Yurimaguas and Olao. We had the joy of dedicating the new building in Olao with a baptism service for new converts. In Yurimaguas our men helped complete the foundation for a pole building that already had a roof completed. Both churches are located in developing communities.
Thousands of tracts telling of God's love from His Word were dispensed through the medical teams and evangelism outreach. We had the joy of giving ove r eight hundred Bibles and several hundred New Testaments to new believers and pastors. Thanks to all of our Cattle for Christ partners that made this happen!
In three cities we congregated pastors together for pastor training in inductive Bible study, servant style leadership, discipleship and principles of city transformation. We were blessed to know they had been encouraged in their walk with Christ, and hopeful for a brighter future in their ministries.
Transformation dinners highlighted our need as Christians to work for the welfare of our cities and pray for those in authority. Pastors were challenged to the call to unity and working together for the reaching their cities for Christ.
Thanks for standing with us with believing prayer and your financial sacrifices. We could not do this ministry without you. I praise God for my friends in Christ and cattlemen who have a vision for world evangelism.
While much remains to be done, I am excited about future church planting possibilities, medical teams and sowing the Gospel in the hearts of such receptive people.
Gratefully Yours,
Glenn Crumpler

Economic Development
Humanitarian work funded by Cattle for Christ varies from place to place as the need and the conditions dictate. Some geographical areas are conducive to raising cattle while others cannot support cattle but do well with goats. Chickens, ducks or guinea pigs work in other places, while others don't need animals at all, but need to learn trades like sewing, block making, raising crops, making leather goods, or cooking and selling food on the streets. See the story and view photos of the results from Cattle for Christ.

Disaster Relief
Hope for Haiti
Haiti was a country of tremendous need before the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake of January 12, 2010. Hunger and inadequate medical access and provisions were the norm previously. Now, the country has been thrown into deeper despair. People are hurting and need help! Gulf Stream Baptist Association and Missionary Michael Petty, with the help of Cattle for Christ International, have been serving in Haiti for many years. Gulf Stream Baptist Association is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, just a 90 minute flight from Haiti. We are an association of 170 Southern Baptist Congregations, speaking 14 languages. Of our 170 congregations, nearly 40% are Haitian congregations.
Our work in Haiti is more than humanitarian, though that is part of our service. More than "giving a man a fish" we endeavor to "teach him to fish." The country has a literacy rate of 52.9%. Our ministry involves working through the local pastors. We equip, prepare, and enable the pastors to be the key catalyst in their community to affect change. Through education and facilitation of the pastors we are able to see the broader communities lifted from the cycle of despair and hopelessness. Since the earthquake of January 12 our focus has been on the provision of medical teams. Refugees who have fled Port-au-Prince have inundated the other towns and villages. We have been embraced by the Mayor of Saint Marc. He has opened the Hospital to our medical teams of Doctors, nurses, and paramedics. Refugees seeking medical care have over flown the hospital filling the courtyard and sidewalk around the hospital. In addition, the refugees have increased the burden for food and potable water. We are working through the pastors to supply that need.
Beyond the immediate crisis, plans are underway to provide a team of US pastors to travel to Haiti to do pastoral care for the Haitian pastors as they, too, are hurting. Following the ministry to the pastors, we will provide training for the Haitian pastors on dealing with grief and loss. They will be better equipped to help their congregations. The long term impact of this tragedy will be dealt with best by equipping the local pastors to minister to the congregations. A strong emphasis is being focused on the children of Haiti. In addition to the massive number of orphans and that unique problem, all of the children have suffered great trauma. Their pastoral care needs are being investigated for future ministry.
Cattle For Christ International has partnered with Gulf Stream Baptist Association as we reach out to Haiti in this long term ministry endeavor. You may join with Cattle For Christ International by making contributions directly to Cattle For Christ, marking your contribution "Haiti". They have graciously committed 100% of the Haiti contributions through Gulf Stream Baptist Association. Please visit http://gofbw.com/news.asp?ID=11278 for an article on the Gulf Stream ministry. Additional reports coming at www.gofbw.com.
According to the IRS, persons who give to charities providing earthquake relief in Haiti can claim these donations on their 2009 tax return. You will be eligibible for these deductions if you make your cash contributions after Jan. 11, 2010 and before March 1, 2010. These include contributions made by text message, credit card, check, or debit card. For more info, view this website www.IRS.gov.
